CAUSE, UFCW, UDW, and FIOB (Frente Indígena Oaxaqueño Binacional – Oaxacan Indigenous Binational Front, a nonprofit, bi-national organization assisting immigrants from Mexico) invite you to stand in solidarity with the farm worker boycott in San Quintin, Mexico and in protest of the ICE detention facility in Santa Maria.

The Board of Supervisors will be hearing a presentation from county staff regarding Community Choice Energy, which would enable the county to buy and build cleaner, energy, including local control and competitive rates. Community Environmental Council will present following staff during comment period. 

CEC and SB CAN encourages all to attend the meeting and/or send letters to the board in support of funding a feasibility study. SB CAN board and participants at our H.O.T. Committee meetings in the north and south have discussed this and think a feasibility study should be done.

The item is number 6 on the departmental agenda. It is expected to come up around 11 a.m. or later. The meeting can be watched on County of Santa Barbara TV Channel 20 starting at 9 a.m.
