Santa Barbara County Action Network is joining with Creek Lands Conservation and CAUSE to train community scientists to test the quality of the water in the Santa Maria River estuary, develop a watershed report card and to reach out to members of the community to to ask them to join with us to protect our local watershed health.

This is part of the Santa Maria River Healthy Watershed Initiative, the first community-based watershed group development effort for the Santa Maria River.

The first step for SBCAN's involvement is to bring together members of the community who would enjoy going in kayaks once a month to test the water in the Santa Maria River estuary.

If you'd like to be a part of the Clean Water Team, sign up below for both of our trainings in January. We'll send a link for the Jan. 23, 2023 Zoom on that day and give more information about the in-field training during the first meeting.
