What to do with food waste? Th, Sep 22 at 5pm (Organics Recycling Programs)

SBCAN is hosting a special Roundtable to hear about and discuss California's most significant waste reduction bill, SB 1383.

This bill mandates that all jurisdictions create programs to recover and donate edible food that would otherwise go to waste, and to recycle organic food waste. Many residents in Santa Barbara County have expressed confusion as to where to put their food waste, how to deal with pests, and what is actually happening with their food waste once it is collected.

Join us to hear from Maia Hoffman from the City of Santa Maria and Mackie Forgey from the County of Santa Barbara about these different programs and what you can do to help them be more successful.
